A refractometer to determine the salinity of salt water demands regular zero point calibration. Single-distilled water often does not offer the requisite purity, resulting in incorrect readings.
This highly pure reference solution undergoes laboratory testing. The conductivity is 0.05 µS.
Do not shake the solution once opened.
Add one drop of the solution to the refractometer and adjust the refractometer to zero.
Do not return used solution to the bottle.
